New Sculpture

I took apart the old sculpture so I could make this new one. I think it was worth it. Happy holidays everyone!

Creepy Eel Finished!

Here is another model I've been working on. It was modeled completely in Zbrush starting from Zspheres.

This is a model I did in Zbrush 3.1.

Tahoe Mural

So my grandma saw my paintings from class and she wanted me to do a mural up at her cabin in tahoe. It took about a week hanging out up there grizzly man style. Here is the final piece, some close ups, and the original drawing it came from. Obviously, halfway through she wanted a bear. Ask and you shall receive.

Sculpture!

Here are some pics from a figurative sculpture I did. The model had this dog that had a ponytail just like hers. She was a character for sure.

Final Painting!

Okay, so for my final piece in my painting class our assignment was to design a book cover. I chose The Doors of Perception by Aldous Huxley. He's a pretty crazy guy as far as what he did with his free time.

Paintings!

My teacher finally gave all of my paintings back from class and all I got for them were smiley faces, gold star stickers, and a condescending mussing of my hair.

Christian Wines Down

This is a painting (acrylic) of my friend Christian at this thing called wine down wednesday where for 5 bucks you get a glass that you can refill as many times as you want from 5-7. However, we're the only ones under forty there usually and I think it's meant for a little more...uh...sophisticated crowd.

Beetle & Moth

Here's some new drawings in my sweet recycled sketchbook with some DIY calligraphy I copied from some jpeg off the internet. Rhinoptera doesn't exist as far as I know. The moth was from a specimen my teacher passed around. K later!

updated pics on sea serpent

Here is some of the progress I made on my modeler's reel. I should expect the summer to yield more time to finish the whole reel.

Round II of Notebook Mining

These ones can be summed up pretty quick. This is what my Zoology teacher looks like when he has my undivided attention...well, while drawing him. The rest are drawings from visiting the Body Worlds exhibit in LA. Pretty cool for some German guy obsessed with being around dead people all the time. A very relevant, enjoyable, poignant and freaky weird exhibit.

Scouring my Last Notebook

Alright. There is no rhyme or reason to these pics. Simply wanted to document the drawings from my sketchbook that I enjoyed. I'm gonna have to do another post or so to get them all in here.

Pelican Wing & Jellyfish

The first drawing is of a pelican wing. The second one was just something I thought would be awesome to see. There aren't any jellyfish this big that could take on a shark, but if there was...that'd be f-ing sweet.

new character

Alright, so I now have some spare time to get my modeling reel underway. Here's a preview of the first character.

Still Life

This was an exercise we did in my painting class. I call it "Spelunking through the caverns of human consciousness or some vase, a sake cup and a squash". I really think the art world is about to get its roof torn off with this one. This was a limited palette exercise which was quite interesting as we only had 3 colors to work with.

Furballs

here are some tests from my hair/cloth and fur class. Computers are pretty crazy sometimes. The last pic is a piece of cloth hanging on a line and the fur is animated by a system of hair (that you can't see). I guess I got what I paid for right?
