The boats was done during my recent trip to Catalina island. The painting is inspired by Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing". The city was done on my final day in New York, and the line drawing is the interior of the restaurant Bistro Ka.
So I've been doing these during my lunch break at work. There is always a model, but sometimes I ignore them and just work with the people who are drawing.
So my grandma saw my paintings from class and she wanted me to do a mural up at her cabin in tahoe. It took about a week hanging out up there grizzly man style. Here is the final piece, some close ups, and the original drawing it came from. Obviously, halfway through she wanted a bear. Ask and you shall receive.
Since the day that I decided to devote my life and my efforts to art I couldn't be happier. Everyday I hope to maintain a positive balance of understanding the world as much as I enjoy it.
